Safiyya Hosein is a writer and comics scholar. She recently published her first short story comic, "1001 Torontonian Nights" in the Yonge at Heart Anthology which was illustrated by Gina Basora. As a comics scholar, her research interests are mainly focused on Muslimah and intersectional superheroes, as well as racialized women in comics. She most recently completed an audience analysis of young adult Muslim consumers of comics, and is currently working on more fiction and scholarly projects. She lives in Toronto, Ontario.
